I have the same problem occasionally when I try to move/delete a file. I've scanned for spyware, virus's, trojans, done defrags, scandisks and nothing seems to fix it. I live with it now. I'm using XP Pro. Open the recycle bin, boom! explorer restarts. Sometimes it's closing a folder or just doing nothing. Have scanned for viruses and trojans, both results are negative. No further info at Microsoft and have exhausted my brain on Google looking for answers.
