I am not sure I follow exactly what is happening here - but try this open the
file where you are storing the pictures using Windows Explorer do you have a
"funny looking" icon other than the normal icons representing the different
picture formats? If so rename the extention of those files to the proper
extention. If I understand you there is probably no extention listed for those
files - Obviously you have to have extentions "turned on" in folder options,
Hope this helps

Bugs in my WinXP?s handling of pictures?..???
1.. When I save several photos in a row, the opening "Save-Picture-As"
window does not show the previous photos saved in that set. It?s not until
all photos are saved, and this window is reopened, do I see all of the
picture files listed?
2.. In the "Save-Picture-As" Win 98?s window I could put only the photo?s
name in the "File Name" slot and as long as the lower "Save As" slot had
.jpeg(jpg) showing, the picture would save correctly.
But now, with WinXP, the name has to also be typed in with the .jpg
extension added again in the upper slot or else the photo will be saved with
NO extension! It seems that WinXP no longer looks at the lower "Save As"
slot to see what type of picture this is?? ?This is a pain in the neck, to
say the least!
3.. Sometimes WinXP will save .gif files, but sometimes it also will not!
I have tried to save .gif files and have gotten only the name saved on a
blank picture folder?
Anyone else have these problems with WinXP and picture saving?
