Running W2k SP2 here. So you installed service Pack
three since you used the other apps?
Either the ports are being blocked or SP3 changed some
networking security features and these other apps are
still trying to connect under the previous security
settings.
So it sounds like SP3 is the culprit.
Fully uninstall WinMX use Norton or another program to
make sure the registries entries are gone as well.
Then Install the new version and see. Also try
switching from secondary to primary connection on
WinMX.
