Well Lionel you have a point. If you have your computer plugged into a good
surge protector,
it cannot help you if you turn it off...unless of course you unplug everything,
who wants to do that?
I turn off my computer at night also, but I leave it plugged into my surge
protector.

I always turn the computer off with every thing else when not in use ,
anything consuming eletricity is a fire hazzard ,even TV s . Ask an
Electrician . Then there is Thunder Storms , you can have a Thunder
Storm anytime , even when you are out shopping . Think about it .
  Lionel.
