-=PCTechTalk=- Re: Vista taskbar & Calender

Well GMan, I hate to say that I could find no way of fixing the problem with
you solution but I did find a way around by doing like you said search for the
corrupt setting. Like I said I could find no fix but I was in "Custom View (98
style)" . So as you can see I hampered your though process and made it much
harder for you to help me.
I liked that view but saw that by using the new taskbar I could do much
more AND could line up my items in order. Not a perfect fit but it's working.

  Becky,
I'm not running Vista, but I'm not afraid to take a stab in the dark for
ya. ;O}

My guess is that there's a setting somewhere that says something like
"Keep my Start menu items in alphabetical order" or "Place shortcuts in
order on the Start menu". To find out, Right click on the Start button and
select Properties from the context menu that opens. Search all through the
Property sheet for it. There are usually at least two tabs full of settings
and you might see an "Advanced" or "Options" button here or there. This
means there are a lot of places where a switch may be hiding that will turn
that behavior off.

I'm expecting that it's an easy fix (but I have been wrong about those
before lol). If you're lucky, someone who's actually running Vista
may see this reply and go seek it out for you.

Peace,
GMan
