224 x 1.5 = 336MB. But, 336 sounds funny. Just up the virtual memory to at
least 512 and you'll be fine.

Not sure if you mean 584 is your virtual RAM or your true physical RAM.
Check your physical RAM by right-clicking on MY COMPUTER and doing =
PROPERTIES. Right there on the GENERAL tab on the bottom should show how =
much RAM you have.

Now... multiply that number by 1.5. So, if you have 512 MB of RAM, 1.5 =
of that should be 768. That's what your virtual RAM should be. But, if =
you think you need more, by all means use more. If you have 1GB of RAM, =
that's 1024 MB. Multiply that by 1.5 and you have 1536 MB.

To change the virtual RAM settings, you right-click on MY COMPUTER and =
do PROPERTIES. Then click ADVANCED. Then go to the PERFORMANCE SETTINGS =
on top. Then click the ADVANCED tab. Then on the bottom, where it says =
VIRTUAL MEMORY, click CHANGE. The enter the same number under INITIAL =
and MAXIMUM size, under custom settings.

I just checked again, and it is 584. I still don't know what that means,
nor what what it should be. Sure would appreciate the specifics, 'cause
everything is real slow when I'm using Adove Photo Elements, which is
almost every day!
BTW, on Firefox Revisited, I'm walking on eggshells, so to speak, using
my computer; trying hard not to use peripheral stuff, until I can gather
enough money for a new hard drive, and someone to install it. I hold my
breath every time I log on!
