-=PCTechTalk=- Re: Uninstall Adobe PhtoDeluxe

I hope and trust that this does NOT open up a can of worms. Some people
swear BYy Norton Products ; others swear AT Norton Products. I will not
inject my personal sentiments in the matter.
I wish to refer you to an article by David Coursey from ZDnet

http://www.zdnet.com/anchordesk/stories/story/0,10738,2914499,00.html

entitled ""How to troubleshoot a Windows meltdown." If you read the article,
you will see reference made to a Susan Bradley copied and pasted here.
I received an e-mail from Susan Bradley, who besides her regular job as a
CPA is the designated network administrator for her firm. That means she's
responsible for about 20 Windows XP machines. In her spare time, she answers
user questions as a tech support volunteer in the Microsoft MVP program.
SUSAN'S E-MAIL was short and to the point: "Your three mistakes are: 1.
Loading up a Norton product; 2. Not checking out the Event Viewer and then
going to EventID.Net; 3. Buying XP Home. I refuse to run any Norton product
on any Windows product."

That says it all about Norton Products in a Windows environment.

In fact, if you wish to know, I am not paranoid about worms, trojans. or
virii. I have taken the necessary steps to guard myself and I can report
that I have never had either for over 15 years now. After all, I am much
more concerned with my personal physical safety and I do NOT travel around
in an armored tank. Who wants to boast about fortifying their computer
stronger than Fort Knox. That is their right.

Me, personally, I love SystemWorks. 75% of the love goes to the antivirus
app, however, as I find that superior to the others. I have used several
antivirus programs, and have yet to be infected with NAV. Others will tell
you different stories, but for the many years I've been in this business
I've like Nortons better.
The maintenance apps on there are very good too. And, for cases such as the
"uninstalling" not working, that's how I fix it, by just removing as much of
the program I can find on the hard drive manually, and then doing a full
system scan for problems. Nortons makes it very easy, as opposed to other
apps I've tried that can be confusing if you don't know what you're doing.

There are several others out there, however, so don't think Norton's is the
only one.

Is it worth investing in? I definitely think so, and you can always find it
on sale since its been out for so long. I'm sure several people on this list
can direct you to a few places that have it on sale. If I get a chance
later, I will see if I can find a few spots myself.
