-=PCTechTalk=- Re: Unable To Connect To Internet Sites

I got the file, but there isn't anything in it that should block MSNBC that
I could find. There are references to MSN ads and popups.

Going through the reference file some of the stuff that has entries is
dubious at best. For instance page counters that people use on their
websites are blocked. There are others but that's one of the main ones.

You mind try to connect to a few more sites for me using IP addresses. If
we get the same response everytime, there is something else wrong that isn't
linked to the host file.

They are:

http://64.28.67.111 Dave Central
http://206.16.0.148 CNet
http://207.46.238.105 MSNBC
http://207.68.172.246 MSN

One time a cop pulled me over for running a stop sign. He said, "Didn't you
see the stop sign?" I said, "Yeah, but I don't believe everything I read."

Hi:

I do use a firewall since have an always on connection
but, when I was using dialup I got the same response.
Like now I can't access any articles on MSNBC.com or
some adsponsered emails that I get and I want to take
a look at some of the deals I can't get to....

I was going to attempt to paste the contents of the
host file to this email but, I didn't know if there
was enough room....it's 375kb...

Were you able to get the one I sent to your
bellsouth.net address?
