Ah... good thought. You think they have a DVD player with possibly a DVI
output? Or some way of connecting it to the monitor? Gotta look into that.
Thanks!

Hi Troth
I have a Samsung sync master 192n LCD flat panel, it produces a signal
without a computer hooked up.
Self diagnostics.

I'm guessing you could get an adaptor for a portable DVD player to plug the
LCD's into.

P4P800E Deluxe mobo... no onboard video. This whole scenario is really a
hypothetical one. The whole gist of this thread is, I'm trying to figure out
how, if you have no spare motherboard, video card or monitor, would you test
out the components on a system? If we go to a service call, yes, we usually
have bigger indicators of what the problem could be. But, in a situation
where there's no posting, this can now be any of the components. So... power
supply can be tested with a multi-meter. Cables can usually be tested with
replacement cables, or more specifically cable testers, which I carry. Is
there some crazy geek device someone thought up of that you can connect a
monitor to, for example, to produce a signal?
