I've had great luck with a free download program call Spandisk.  This 
breaks up large files onto as many disks as you might need for your old 
486.  It can now be found at 
<http://www.cybertechhelp.com/html/downloads/download.php/id/13 .  It 
will probably take a very long time, but it does work well.
