Once you get the program back where you want it, if you'd like a desktop
shortcut as well, just right click it [from it's preferred spot] and click
"Send
to">Desktop (create shortcut) and you'll have it in both your programs and on
your desktop as well.
You can always send the desktop shortcut to the recycle bin if you decide
later that you don't want it.
