I cannot find Windows Movie Maker on my Win7 Toshiba laptop.  There is a
Toshiba branded Corel product that probably does much the same but could not
find anything about extracting stills in its manual.

Off to look at VLC now.

It's the farthest right button.  The other one will split 
your video.

Windows Movie Maker on all Window PCs can take pictures
which are still shots.  It's the right button right under
the preview pane.

Just click the button and it will add the picture to your
My Pictures file on your computer or any where you specify
on your computer.

I'm using XP version of Windows Movie Maker
