Go into DOS with the system disk you made and then, at the a:> prompt, you
should put in a cd...any cd...and then type the drive letter of the cd rom
followed by a colon.  Probably d:  Then if it doesn't give an error message
and it sees the cd, type dir /p  Thenif you get a list of files you have
dos drivers.  If not, you'll have to get them first.  If your mother board
supports it, you can boot directly from the cdrom.

Since the OS is running, you should be able to make a win 98 startup disk.
That's your best option, as it has cdrom support.
