Selene,
Just to let you know, the Rockwell modem has nothing to do with the loss
of sound you've described. It's phone features only come into play when
you're online and running software that can access them. Having said that,
do you know the make/model of sound card that's installed in your system.
That's where the trouble lies and where we need to focus our attention to
fix this. :O)
Peace,
G Man

Subject: -=PCTechTalk=- Sound Gone - But not Completely
Hello all,
I've lost some of my sound after vacuuming/blowing out the interior of my
computer.
I have sound when I boot up (the opening chords to Windows), I have sound
when I receive mail through OE (the little chimes). I don't have sound if I
have my Yahoo messenger open and I get mail notification. I don't have
sound when I'm playing games...either online or not.
Obviously my speakers are hooked up properly or I doubt I'd have ANY sound.
I have an HP Pavilion with a Rockwell HCF Speakerphone Modem. Everything
else (game controller, game port, etc.) is Riptide.
Any thoughts?
Thanks!
Selene
