-=PCTechTalk=- Re: Searching for another Office 3000 --WINDOWS INSTALLER

Hello Mike,

One of my seniors also has the problem of 'Windows Installer' popping up
constantly & it is driving her crazy. I too followed the directions of
repair using the CD but it did no good. And I went through Control Panel,
add & Remove programs & took out Office 2003. But that didn't work either.
Windows Installer just keeps popping up! I disabled it, but is that a
temporary fix? I am wondering what important role Windows Installer plays
in the operation of the computer. If it is important, what can be done to
keep it enabled without it constantly popping up?

Thanks,
Jan

Another bonus for me is I have had a constant
pop up of "Windows Installer" that could not be
removed.

Microsoft advised me to do a "repair reinstall"
which did not fix it any of the 8 times I did it.

Last night I got mad and uninstalled all my MS
Office components from Control Panel>
"Windows Add and Remove Programs".

After restarting my computer I no longer
have the Windows Installer popups<VBG>
