-=PCTechTalk=- Re: Scanners.

ML,
About a month or two ago, I picked up a Lexmark 8300, 3-in-1 (Scanner,
printer and copier) for about $170 (had a $30 rebate at the time).
Bought it because I needed a scanner that would work with Windows XP
X64. Circa January to March, hardware that would work with X64 Windows
finally started appearing. The Lexmark has an autodocument feeder!
Also, nice to print some color occasionally at work. Haven't used the
copier feature, but at home this is a very useful option. So far, for
the price (since I got it to help me with my work), can't complain and
been happy with it. Only thing that scares me is that I'm not familiar
with Lexmark products in terms of reliability and longevity. But the
scanning features and software has been very good so far (the 7300
series is only about $20-30 cheaper but with this model which has
multiple flash card slots, I now have a card reader for my computer in
addition -- you would think an over $2000 Dell would come with card
readers wouldn't you).
