mine is also 995.  the instructions say to "enter '465' in the outgoing mail 
(SMTP);' field.  Check the box next to 'this server require a secure 
connection (SSL)' under "incoming mail (POP3)' The port will change to 995.

and I just had to set mine all up again and it did change to 995.

Strange Gman......

I tried to send you a cut and paste copy showing those instructions and
using Port 993.
Use 993 and use authentication?
The difference...... no idea but I was using 993 with the tic for SSL
without a problem.
I dumped the imap and POP from Gmail because of the spam.
