Sammi,
    Try going back into Safe Mode and see if some of the other problems 
still exist.  I'm not exactly sure what it means either, other than the fact 
that certain drivers and processes are not fired up in Safe Mode, pointing 
much more strongly than before to a possible software issue.

    Regardless of the final outcome of all this, I'd like to strongly 
suggest that you get all of your stuff backed up, if you haven't already. 
If they want to replace parts, it could cost you your present Windows 
install.  If the tech doing the work is typical, the loss could include 
everything on the drive.  Even if it turns out to be software only, the 
solution may turn out to be a wipe/reinstall.
