I am not one to jump at every new thing that comes out and usually wait for a few months before upgrading. I inadvertently upgraded to IE7 when I formatted and reinstalled WinXP and I must say I have not regretted it... Once I had all my settings in place I found its great and that I don´t miss IE6 at all! They'll likely patch the vulnerabilities until after IE8 comes out or sometime thereafter. The problem is the 0-day vulnerabilities and the time in-between said fix of 0-day vulnerability. Like I said below, vulnerabilities typically discovered within IE6 are more severe due to its integration within the OS. For some folks, change isn't something they're necessarily interested in as they're used to/accustomed to doing things a certain way. And that's fine, as long as they're aware they're at greater risk and are accepting that risk. Being in the security field, I usually opt for the more secure path personally - even if that means a certain amount of change.
