ok - latest on this! the adwatch on my firewall - I disabled
it, but it was still stopping 'ads'. so I totally removed it
now.( I had removed active content filtering totally the
other day and got some things back) - Now, I'll see what
happens as I look at web sites, but the one that I have been
trying to see different things on, is now - at least at this
moment - showing the graphics!
I had installed quickTime, and re-installed Java - VM - and
that helped some things also.
What a chore this has been!
thank you to all who have offered their help, and to those
how have read my posts!
perseverance!!!
my computer is not destined to be tossed out the door
anymore!!
This doesn't mean I won't scream again, the next time
something isn't showing up!!
Thanks!
Cris

I ended up finding it - I think it is the same one. It was
at least the same forum, maybe a different thread. They said
there were several threads with similar information in them.

Not much really of help - pages and pages of things people
have tried on the one that I found tonight. That was why I
installed - or re-installed quickTime. some people had luck
with that.
I am having more of a problem of no redX's - no sign that
the gif's are missing, other than I know they are to be
there - so there are no red x's to click on to say, show
picture!!

I disabled ad watching in my firewall, and I got one little
one - but not others.

thank you so much!!

Well, the url is not coming up for me tonight either. I was
doing a search
in Google on red x's in Internet explorer and images missing
in internet
exployer.
Trouble with that is it was on a second or third search page
and then the
page I found was from another forum link on one of those
pages.
See if you can confirm it is only gifs that are red x's
(right click each x
and it will tell you) and maybe someone else can find the
answer too.
My history is not taking me to the right page either.
