-=PCTechTalk=- Re: SP2 updates could this be my problem?

I know that certain graphics are missing off of web pages.
sometimes there are links to click on - and they don't open.
I've checked for pop up stopper's.

there was one site that I went to, and it said to click on
the bar at the top to download the item. The bar was not
showing up on that web site anywhere! so I couldn't get the
download. I was able to go to the old computer and just do
the old fashioned click and download. I don't remember now
what site that was - I've had that sp2 bar on other sites,
and have been able to click on it.

here is a web site that I have problems with. To warn
whoever may not agree with it - it is a conservative talk
radio's web site. But - it is one that I am having trouble
with on this computer.
There should be a Bush/cheney logo in the upper left hand
corner, and there should be an animated GIF of John Kerry
under the marquee. I also have a red X in the box on the
right for the Christmas Card 2004. I get none of those
things showing up ! When I first told my firewall OUTPOST to
add internet explorer to the total allow list, this page
came though. It is once again not coming through!! I have
zone alarm on my old computer. So perhaps it is the firewall
still - or sp2, or a setting somewhere. BUT I am so
frustrated.

there was another web page - and if I could find it, I'd
send it too. On my old computer, it automatically shows WMP
and will play a video. On this computer, it is just all one
black page.

I do not run anti virus or zone alarm so do not have to deal
with the
settings on those. I did not have to change any of my
settings for IE or OE
but I had put a new install on my computer not long ago and
do not have all
my programs loaded yet so that could be some of it. But my
husband's is an
old install and none of his settings changed either but he
really does not
have much on there except games.
Wait on the old computer until you have your settings
figured out and can
clear out enough room to load it. (I loaded some of my
husbands big games to
another partition instead of the "C" partition.) What
exactly are you
having problems with?
