-=PCTechTalk=- Re: Rose's Completely Simplified Organizational Method

Rose,
I'm sorry to hear that you two are having so much trouble with the new
system. I know folks who absolutely LOVE their new Vista system and others
who have had nothing but trouble with it. It doesn't seem to matter all
that much whether it's installed on an older system or if it came with a new
computer, either. Hopefully, Fry's will get it running properly for ya (I'd
tell them to format the drive and start over) and this will all soon become
a faded memory.

It sounds like you're working on these problems 24/7
(waking/sleeping/waking). Pulling triple shifts at anything will knock you
out, ya know. Whatever you feel you might be "coming down with" is most
likely the result of this stress suppressing your immune system. As you've
already suggested, it's time to put it away for a bit and get your health
back to where it's supposed to be (orange juice, midday naps, vitamins and
foot massages all seem to help). If you stop looking at numbers and specs
and such, your subconscious mind will continue to play with the ideas you've
been considering and probably even come up with some more that you haven't
yet thought about, without the associated stress of consciously thinking
about them. I use this method often for problems with no apparent simple
solution (just walk away). I will strongly suggest that you keep a pad and
pen handy so you can jot down anything that pops into your head during this
down time (if you can keep your mind off of the organization part of your
situation, ideas WILL come to you at the oddest times, including in the
middle of the night). :O)

And please, worry not about the time I spend on stuff like this. I do
it because I enjoy it and I only want to work at the pace of the person at
the other end of the discussion (unless I'm the one with the problem, of
course. lol). I've also discovered long ago that I tend to learn more as
I teach/tutor/mentor/whatever. So I'm getting what I need out of helping
you and others.

Peace,
GMan
