Sammi,
While I certainly appreciate your enthusiasm, I am only interested in
acquiring a correct copy of the last of the three play disks in the set I
bought many moons ago (there are 4 disks total in the set). Accepting a
full game from someone else would very much fall under the pretext of
Piracy. My situation is very different.
When I bought the set (1999 perhaps), I tucked it up on a shelf and
quickly forgot I even had it. A couple of years later, I pulled down all of
the game boxes and rediscovered it. To my dismay, it refused to install. I
took a look at the contents of the disks and discovered that the stamping
company (the folks who create the disks for distribution) had used the image
for Disk 2 on the third disk in my set. In other words, both Disk 2 & 3 had
the Disk 2 contents on it. Disk 3 was labeled as Disk 3, but contained the
wrong image. Since it's a set, all 3 games are controlled and accessed
through a single installation that requires all of the disks to be correct.
Without that last disk, I can play none of the games. It turns out that
this was a known issue back when it was released, but I became aware of it
too late to do anything about it. The warrantee on the game had run out
long ago (and Red Orb has gone out of business), so the entire purchase has
become worthless. My only hope is to find someone with a good copy of the
entire trilogy who is willing and able to provide me a working copy of the
final disk in the set.
I profusely thank you for your generous offer, but I could only accept a
copy of the actual disk I'm missing here. :O)
Peace,
G
