-=PCTechTalk=- Re: Restore Point

Glo,

If you maintain regular backups of your important stuff, a restore point is
a good idea but don't panic if the system won't let you. After cleaning up
the hard drive, if you have serious problems, the worst you would need to do
is a clean install and if your system is as old and cranky as suggested,
that probably would not be a bad idea any way. Especially if you have an OS
older than Win XP.

If cleaning up the temp files, running chkdsk and defrag then cleaning up
and compacting Outlook Express doesn't help, let us know. We'll get the
shovels out and dig up some more ideas (or help you bury the infernal
contraption).

Without making any specific suggestions, I will tell you that my Wal-Mart
has been selling an e-machine with Win XP (NOT Vista) for $298, and a Compaq
with flat panel monitor for $398. Those are both very reasonable prices and
lower than *I* thought possible. Replacement might be something to think
about.

First time I've heard the "whine-1-1". I like it!

Don
