Janet,
A memory stick is a small flash drive stick.  It usually has up to 1 GB and 
lately they have come out with 2 GB.  That's probably not enough space to 
backup 
your entire system.  If you're looking to back up specific files like your 
e-mail, that should be more than sufficient.

I use memory sticks to transport all my mail, my gun inventory, and various 
other files such as a password file, etc. every time I travel.  It all fits on 
one stick, but I like redundancy so I copy it twice (two sticks).
