Hi GMan!

If you're using Windows peer-to-peer networking, or connecting to a WinNT or
Win2000 Server, you need the Client for Windows Networking. Similarly, if
you're connecting to a Novell Netware server, you need the appropriate
Client for Novell Networking.

If you are networking with another 3rd-party networking system (Lantastic
used to be popular, for example, until Win95 and later included most of its
functionality without additional cost) you would need the appropriate
software for that networking environment.

Why would you want to do WIndows networking without the Windows Networking
Client?
