-=PCTechTalk=- Re: Reformat

Hi Deb,
I typed out a couple of tutorials on this very subject quite a while
ago. I wrote them while running Win98, but it also applies to all of the
consumer versions of Windows from 95 all the way up to ME. Windows NT, 2000
and XP have a somewhat different folder structure, but the concepts are
still the same.

To get the tutorial, just join our old Yahoogroups' list by sending a
blank email message to PCTechTalk-subscribe@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx After you
reply to the confirmation message Yahoogroups sends to you, go to the PCTT
website (http://groups.yahoo.com/group/PCTechTalk). You might have to
create a user profile for yourself in order to access the site. If you have
any problems with any of this, give me a yell.

Once you have access, check out our Files area (the link is on the far
left side of the page). The tutorials I mentioned are located under the
Files/TUTORIALS & GUIDES/GMan's Tutorials folders. There are two of them
that will be of particular interest for you. Read through both the
"Deciding what should be backed up before reformatting.doc" and the "format
tutorial.doc" files. While you're there, go through the rest of them and
check out some of the other great tutorials, guides and info that others
have uploaded to that section. There's also a bunch of great links in the
Bookmarks area that may interest you.

Peace,
G Man

Subject: -=PCTechTalk=- Reformat

Hi....I have been on the list for awhile and don't post much but I have
learned a lot....I was wondering if someone could tell me step by step how
to wipe out everything on the hard drive and reformat.....it is a laptop
running windows 98 SE. Or if anyone could point me the direction of a good
web page that would tell me the same thing...thanks...Deb
