I have several Palm Devices.  Unless your device has a flash-Ram backup
feature (and I suspect that the Zire doesn't), you are, regrettably, almost
certainly "out of luck."

Here's the specs for the Zire 72 and I don't see any flash-Ram listed:

It does have an expansion slot to which one could back up one's data (for
future reference).
