-=PCTechTalk=- Re: Raid O probs - relisted

Well, I talked again with the senior tech at ASUS, and he couldn=92t =
get it
to work either, so I have to RMA it back to them. Thanks for all of your
help with this RAID setup. I will take all of your info to heart when I =
get
it back from ASUS. Hopefully, the guy will accept getting another HDD =
for
the OS, and use the array for storing info. Thanks again.

### What light? Harddrive activity light or green power-on light?

but the drives work when I use an IDE cable.

### I thought we were talking about SATA drives? AFAIK, there is no =
way to
connect those via IDE cable.

### SATA drives DO require a special power cable; they do not power =
through
the SATA cable. One way to tell if they are being recognized is to start =
the
system with a boot disk and see if they come up in the BIOS or the BIOS =
for
the RAID controller.

I'll hold the drives in my hand and see

### Hard to tell from here. Are the drives new or used? How old?

Is there

### ALWAYS buy RAM from a reputable source, like Crucial. Go to =
Crucial's
website and check what kind of RAM that motherboard uses and compare =
with
what you have or order from Crucial.
