-=PCTechTalk=- Re: Problem with folders (getting Explore and keeping it)

The WinKey + E is new to me. However, it only opens to the the first level
of My Computer. And right clicking any folder and choosing the second option
will, of course, give the Explore window (two panes). Another way is to
click the "Folder" button up on the tool bar; that opens two panes in any
folder. And yes, Emma, one can go to Tools, Folder Options, View, and check
"Remember each folder's view settings" ... I also in that window clicked
"Apply to All Folders" (for some reaon, it's not doing it).
HOWEVER, (maybe I'm not making myself clear), in Win98, one was able to make
ALL folders open in Explore as a default option (View, Folder Options, File
Types, Folder, Edit, Explore, Set Defaults, Close, Close). How in WinXP can
we do the same thing? Maybe I should ask, "Does anyone on the list have
Restore as a "Default" setting where it now works on all the folders? If
yes, how did you get it?
And the followup question was (if this default cannot be obtained), why
can't it be obtained if WinXP is an advanced operating system over Win98?
