-=PCTechTalk=- Re: Picture Attachments

Only for AOL users! In order to save pictures that have been INSERTED
rather than ATTACHED, you must right click each one... one at a time then
select save then rename if necessary and then click save again.

In many cases, pictures that are inserted or embedded, have default names
such as !cid_00ab01c78852$933b47a0$020fa8c0@JUNIOR3 . Those require
renaming and to have an extension added to it.

AOL has made this process relatively easy for AOL users, but makes it a
nasty pain in the .... neck for everybody else.

Many photo exchange groups I belong to either ban or strongly discourage use
sharing pictures using this method.

Here is a better way to send large quantities of pictures:

Select all pictures to be shared
Right click>Send To> Compressed (zipped) folder
Log on to www.sendthis.com or www.badongo.com or similar file share service
Upload the file
Send the resulting file link to anybody/everybody you want to.

The recipient can then download the file at their convenience. This is
especially useful for those still on dial-up since it does not take forever
for their email to download and they can download the file while they take a
shower or eat dinner.

If you have never used a service like this I will, on request, upload a file
and share the link with the group. You can then see how the download side
of the service works.
