When I bought my system from Gateway -- I gave consideration to
2 factors -- what I wanted to use it for over the next 5 years
and weighed it against cost. It's true I could have bought a
less expensive system but this one can be expanded (the RAM)
when the need arises.
I had already spent $600 to $800 to upgrade my other computers
but I still did not have a computer that could do what I
wanted. So that was actually money I put down the drain so to
speak.
So my attitude now is buy the best and hang the cost because
over the long run it ends up being less expensive. A valuable
lesson learned the hard way.
