Jan,
Go to Control Panel and open up the "Regional and Language Options"
applet. Click on the Language tab and then on the Details button and see if
French is listed there. If it is, remove it and make sure English is listed
and set as the Default.
If it's not there, you'll need to look thought Office's Options are for
a similar feature. He may be now using a French dictionary that was
installed by Outlook 2007.
