-=PCTechTalk=- Re: Outlook Express rules and filters

OE 5.5 - deletes after downloaded, goes into deleted items
folder. There are also options that say "do not download
from server" or "delete from server". These also always
wind up in my deleted items folder, so I'm not sure what the
point of these two options are. I think all versions of OE
handle these the same way, previous to 5.5 do. I have over
900 message rules, not including blocked senders and about
200 folders, so most questions about this I "should" be able
to answer.

Subject: -=PCTechTalk=- Outlook Express rules and filters

Hello All,

I joined this group just to find out more about the rules
and filters of OE.
If a rule has been set to delete the email, at what point is
it deleted? Does it delete as it downloads or does it
download the headers then deletes it from the ISP server?
And what version of OE does this apply to.

I am assuming it downloads the emails then deletes it. I say
this because if you set the rule to search the body of an
email, then it's more practical to read the body as they
come in and not reading from from the ISPs server

Vict
thanks
