Ok, I need to jump in. Her son is paying the telephone bill for her, so if 
we contact the phone co and ask them, they agree to tell her son. HE is 
supposed to tell her. She is wanting to give the number out to her friends 
so they can call her.

I -think- I know what is going on really. He made the numbers unlisted, 
non-published, so she would not be disturbed by a lot of calls. He is 
probably thinking as as long he does not tell her the number, she cannot 
give it out and end up with a lot of unwanted calls. She is thinking, "gee, 
I just want my friend Martha and my Aunt Bessie to be able to call when 
they want."  The phones each seem to be on a line of their own- when one 
rings, none of the others do- and by time she figures out which one- the 
caller has hung up.

I think it's important the dr and druggist be able to contact her. So, I 
stupidly volunteered to try to help her.  Maybe I should have kept my mouth 
shut. <g>
