wellllllllllllll it kinda sounds like fresh only at a little side of the road 
stand and raise yer own beef--yeah right. We do have an in town farmer in the 
del place for produce but nuthin even close anything fresh cept supermarket 
meat...guess I am down to crock pot soup homeade..pppphhhhhhhh..back to my 
computer...

  If your situation is such that it's nearly impossible to switch to all 
  fresh, learn how to read labels.  Anytime you see something that you can't 
  picture in your head (guar gum, locust beans, polysorbate-80, fluoride, 
  Retsyn, etc.), write it down and look it up as soon as you can.  If you did 
  deep enough, you'll be very unpleasantly surprised by what some of this 
  stuff really is.  Also, don't blindly trust the info that comes from 
  entities like the US Dept. of Agriculture, the FDA (Food & Drug 
  Administration) or even the AMA (American Medical Association) when it comes 
  to your health.  They all have a lot to gain by leaving out very important 
  data (for instance, how can a 342 lb man have the same daily requirements as 
  a 98 lb woman?).  The current mortality of Americans is approaching close to 
  80, but the average life expectancy of ANYONE who has graduated medical 
  school is only 59.  That should tell you volumes.      ;O)
