Thank you!
I was surprised too, but I read what it said, and it said that it was
contingent on the installation of outlook express. It also mentioned that if
you had OExpress 5.0, it would update you to 5.5 - I thought it might scan
first and realize that 6 was on there, but it started to load files right
away, so I cancelled it!! I tried custom and normal ....
another way microsoft entangles itself in its own programs.
I may try backing up OExpress like you said - and take a chance on it. Just
seems like such a royal pain !! Why isn't anything easy!!

I'm surprised that the installation is required... that should be
optional.... have you tried doing a "custom" install instead of the
"typical" or "full" install...maybe if you go far enough in the installation
process it may recognize that a newer version of OE is installed. You may
even be prompted to approve copying of older files over new ones. If all
else fails try this:
Back up your outlook express (visit http://insideoe.tomsterdam.com for
instructions to do a manual backup or to download a utility to do it for
you)
Uninstall OE6.0 and let Workssuite install OE5.5 or let Workssuite install
5.5 over 6.0.
Log on to windowsupdate and download/install OE 6.0.
