-=PCTechTalk=- Re: OH BOY I NEED HELP FOR A FRIEND

Pat,
Something is obviously amiss on his system and needs to be removed.
Here are a couple of other suggestions for him to try (assuming it's a nasty
that's successfully hiding from his AV program). Each of these programs can
be downloaded and run for free, however, some of them also have Pro versions
which are very much worth the investment. I have every one of them
installed here on my own system (several of them are Pro versions).

Rootkit Revealer (seeks out hidden rootkits)
http://wapurl.co.uk/?XY8AU2U

McAfee AVERT Stinger (free emergency multi-virus removal tool)
http://www.mcafee.com

Trojan Remover (scans for and removes most known trojans)
http://www.simplysup.com/tremover/

Ad-Aware (Full malware system scan & removal)
http://wapurl.co.uk/?E3IMLUJ

Microsoft Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool
http://www.microsoft.com/security/malwareremove/default.mspx

Spybot - Search & Destroy
http://www.safer-networking.org/en/spybotsd/index.html

Webroot Spy Sweeper
http://wapurl.co.uk/?SYQH88N

WinPatrol (runs in background to catch problems before they occur)
http://www.winpatrol.com/

If any of them reveal the type or, better yet, the name of the offending
monster but he's still not able to remove it, let us know and we'll track
down a repair tool specific to that infestation. :O)

Peace,
GMan
