Sorry Coleen I don't have any idea why icons would disappear, unless you run 
some program to clean up and it took it that the icons didn't point to 
anywhere. Maybe Mike or someone will know and tell us.

  Thanks, Hank for your previous help. I've got another problem today - The new 
shortcut icon I created for NotePad and two other shortcut icons have 
disappeared from my task bar. I rebooted but that didn't bring them back.  I 
know I can create new shortcut icons for those programs to add back to my task 
bar, but as I've never had icons disappear before, I am wondering why now? 
Seems suspicious that they disappeared after this problem with Notepad & 
actmovie.exe yesterday. 
  Any ideas on what may be wrong would be appreciated.
