Go back to the Crucial site.  Run the scan.  It
will tell you what you have 
installed.  Match the speed... if you have
pc4200, buy the 4200.  If you 
have the pc5300 buy the pc5300 OR if you replace
both sticks you can also 
use the pc4200.

You can mix and match your existing RAM with new
RAM, but best performance 
will come when you install matched pairs.  In
other words, to upgrade to 2GB 
you will get the best performance buying two 1GB
sticks.

If you can be happy with just 1.5GB you can buy a
single 1GB stick to 
replace one of the existing 512MB sticks with
very little degradation in 
performance, but don't waste money buying a
faster RAM to go with an 
existing slower RAM stick

You can mix and match the pc4200 and pc5300 but
the pc5300 will NOT work 
faster than the pc4200.

Best advice is buy a kit of 2 1GB or 2 2GB sticks
of RAM at the appropriate 
speed.

Second best advice is to buy a single 1GB or 2GB
stick at the appropriate 
speed.

The speed you buy is based on the speed of your
FSB.  Buy the 4200 for a 533 
FSB, the pc 5300 for a 677 FSB.
