Hard to swallow that both would go bad at the same
time.

Both my 250 GB drives died at the same time because Gateway 
built my computer wrong.  They didn't leave any air to flow 
around the two sata drives so they burned up at the same time.

Did they do anything about it even though I had a letter from my 
tech -- nope.  Guess who lost a customer.  The machine I'm using 
cost $3,500 not counting the additional 1 GB of RAM I put into 
later.

So nothing would surprise me about hard drives going kaput.  And 
yes GMan I had everything backed up :-)
