GMan,
I'm runnign Win Me and it is not on a network. I read your next post re more
driver pages you found and will check those out. Thank you for your time and
effort. I'll let you know if I get that printer working.

Gloria,
What operating system are you trying to use this on? I see a couple OSs
mentioned in your post, but nothing about the actual system you're running.
I'm also interested in knowing whether this computer is part of a network.

Peace,
GMan

Hi there, GMan,
I wonder if you can tell me this: I have an old dmp printer, Panasonic
KX-P1180, that I'd like to use as an additional printer for text. My old
system was DOS and that printer ran on the driver for IBM Proprinter II.
I've been to Driverguide.com and found a driver, but when we installed it,
it won't stand as a default driver--I mean my default is now my HP printer,
but when we try to make this other one the default, the tick won't hop over
to the IBM as the default.
The thing prints, but it's just garbage, not letters. The driver file is
named WIN31DMP.EXE and gives the OS as Win 95B --I have the Install disk for
Win 95 R2--could the driver be picked from this disk? I guess my first
question should be will this dmp even work in WIN Me if I have the right
driver?
Driverguide also says that under Windows you can use the Epson FX-800
driver, which I haven't found yet. We've been messing around with this for
quite a while; I don't NEED the printer, really, I'd just like to know if
this can be done. Does anyone out there know? Thanks for any info...
