She needs to get to the folder they are in with the program she will be using 
to restore the files and I am giving her that. Doesn't sound like she's worked 
with the root directory very much.

  I have win98 and here is how I found the file:

  I went to start
  then to find
  under "find in" I chose "my computer"
  and typed in *.dbx and clicked "find now"
  and all of the .dbx files came up.

  Maybe this will help?  I hope so!
