Cristy,
When I said I would backup the entire OS volume, I meant make an image
of it, just in case something went bad during the partitioning. I would
then be able to recover the original OS from the image if necessary, but it
would still go to the same drive letter.
By "install a second instance", I mean actually installing it from a
Windows install CD/DVD. I don't recommend imaging an OS to a second
partition because all of the shortcuts and registry pointers will be
referring back to the C drive instead of its new home. It would be a super
mess to try & clean up and I know of no one who has that kind of time or
patience. lol
