Run a program like BelArc Advisor to get the name/model number
etc for devices Dell doesn't have drivers for. Then go to
manufacturer's website to get the driver. I would do this for
the more common drivers such as audio, video, network adapter,
CD/DVD drive etc even if Dell has them.

Dell may have an ISO image of the resource disk you could
download and burn a replacement.

Subject: -=PCTechTalk=- Need Help with Dell Drivers Downloads
please......

I'm going to just format my niece's Dell Inspiron 1521 Laptop.
When I go to Dell download driver support page:

http://www.dell.com/support/drivers/us/en/19/DriversHome/NeedProd
uctSelection

and put in the Laptop service code, which is 51XV5F1

It lists only 15 drivers, I do not see the video or audio drivers
listed..I click on the 44 driver link to the right and there
aren't there either. The only video driver listed is for the TV
tuner....can someone help me out here? From reading I need to
install in this order, when I do find the drivers..oh, they do
not have the dell resources CD's or I could do it in a blink.....

Chipset
SM Bus
Video Drivers - (Install framework first) Modem Wireless Ethernet
Sound

This laptop is junk so hope a format helps.....any help is
appreciated!
