When this happened to me long ago it had something to do with the 
send settings having the right things checked, either MIME 
checked or not checked , if I remember corrrectly, that fixed it, 
but it could have been the UUENCode.

not very informative.  At least we know that my replies aren't
somehow
affected by any strange formatting rules imposed by the original.

    Still, I would think that a Text Only listserver (Freelists)
wouldn't
have problems like this.
