Thanks G.  That is what I decided after posting last night.  I went to the 
website and could find no prior version that old.  I will uninstall this old 
version and download the newest.  The old one was still scanning just fine 
(and very fast probably because it had no new definitions)and sometimes 
found a few cookies.  I always ran AdAware first so was not concerned when 
it did not find anything at all.  My local tech put Spybot on for me years 
ago while he had my computer in his shop.  I was running Win 98 then.
