When talking about computers almost anything is old technology the day after 
you buy it.  That said, "old" does not mean bad or worthless.

Your processor is a very adequate computer for most everything a run of the 
mill consumer would want it to do.

Quad core processors are making it to the corporate and enterprise level 
now.  In a few months they will be at consumer level where we will still be 
waiting for dual core capable software.

I'm rather surprised we haven't seen or heard anything about 128-bit 
processors.  Though with 2 or 4 64-bit cores in a processor I gues you would 
have the equivalent of a 128 or 256 bit processor.
