-=PCTechTalk=- Re: Micromedia Flash problems...

Change the security settings in IE to allow what you want to do.
Specifically to allow download and installation of such things.
There are TONS of security settings in XP, IE and OE. 99.99999% of
the time problems like this are caused by one or more of those
security settings.

The gold bar will appear at the top of the browser window just below
the toolbars. If you are not getting the gold bar then you have a
incorrect or incomplete installation, or improper security settings
or a defective copy of IE6

Subject: -=PCTechTalk=- Micromedia Flash problems...

My PC will not play any Micromedia Flash programs. When I get a site
that requires it instead I get the empty box with the red corner "X"
in it, and the site's info about needing to install MicroMedia Flash
7 (or 8) to see anything... So then I click on the install option
but it NEVER installs at all! Nothing happens?!
Also I get some silly message that says "Important ; click on the
gold bar on top of your browser to install". WHAT "gold bar"? I
don't get any fool 'gold bar' on the top of my browser.. (IE6.0)!!

I can live without this flash player I guess, but it does get
annoying when people send me stuff to check out and I can't see what
they're talking about..
Any clues as to what's wrong here?
Thanks,
drummer
