Hi Larry,

The drive in his computer is a Phillips CD/DVD. It doesn't do a darned 
thing...it won't even recognize that there is a disk of any kind in the 
drive. No read...no burn...no nothing.

The Memorex drive is one I bought several years ago for my old pc. Never 
been used; I have to find the power cord for it which could talk some time. 
Old packrat here!

I appreciate the info and the links and will check them out tonight.
